Scenarios to Strategy Inc.

Arden Brummell is Managing Director of Scenarios to Strategy Inc. (S2S), a consulting firm that helps organizations have important conversations by providing scenario planning, strategy and facilitation services. Arden has over 30 years experience in strategic management, corporate development and academic research. His particular focus is on scenario planning facilitation to promote organizational learning and strategic business development. Arden earned a Ph.D. from McMaster University and spent 5 years as a university professor before joining Shell Canada, where he participated on the original scenario development team at Shell Canada and later became head of scenario and strategic studies. Twice, he was seconded to London, England to join Royal/Dutch Shell's Group Planning department where he was part of the global scenario teams, led studies on the future of the then Soviet Union, Africa and Latin America and helped implement an intensive learning workshop process to help senior management teams understand and implement strategic decisions. In 1995, Arden established his own consulting company and in 1996, he founded Global Business Network Canada. Arden has worked with a variety of large and small companies, government departments and non-profit organizations, helping them focus on strategic priorities and understand change. Arden also supports numerous organizations that make a difference in the community.

Greg MacGillivray is also a Managing Director of Scenarios to Strategy Inc. (S2S), a consulting firm that helps organizations have important conversations by providing scenario planning, strategy and facilitation services. Greg has over 20 years of energy-focused experience in the private and public sectors and has strong strategic and commercial expertise. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from St. Francis Xavier University in 1986, Greg started his career as a Financial Analyst with Voyager Energy Inc. and later represented the interests of Alberta at natural gas regulatory proceedings in Canada and the U.S. Greg then joined Suncor Energy Inc. working in the natural gas business as Eastern Natural Gas Marketing Manager, Manager New Business Ventures and Manager Strategic Projects. Greg has experience in conventional oil and gas exploration and development, oil sands development, wholesale and retail energy marketing and in the field of sustainable development. After establishing S2S, Greg has worked with clients that include Suncor, the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association, Emera Inc., Alberta Employment Immigration and Industry, the City of Calgary, Edmonton Airports, Industry Canada and Alberta Environment. He also leads a collaborative relationship with the Canadian Energy Research Institute. Greg also supports numerous organizations that make a difference in the community.
